Butterflies (scarf)
Butterflies (scarf)
Fabric: 100% silk or satin
Sizes: 16x16, 36x36, 50x50
How to wash: For the first wash - use one cup of vinegar and 2 teaspoons of salt in a washing machine on a full wash. Dry immediately after washing by hanging to avoid transfer stains. For subsequent washing, use a phosphate free detergent and full water cycle. Wash separately from other laundry for the first 2-4 washes. Expect minor shrinking.
More information:
The satin is made from 100% polyester fabric, has a smooth surface, low lustre, and mimics silk in its softness. The print is visible about 50% on the back side. Each scarf is printed and sewn by hand in Montreal, Canada. The image itself comes from my original oil painting. The vivid print will never fade after washing.
The smallest (16x16) can be wrapped around your wrist, neck, or handbag, offering an outfit some color if needed. The largest (50x50) can be wrapped three times around the neck. I find that the silk, in particular, is both light and warm, and holds truest to the original painting.
Creation and shipping:
These scarves are manufactured out of Canada. It takes roughly 6-8 days for a single scarf to be produced and then another week or so for delivery! Thank you for your patience as these scarves get made and please know that they take this long because a lot of love and care go into their making.
