Citrus is an endless theme in my work. Something about the vibrancy of the colors, how they can shine like a light when there is a darker background. Movement is an interesting concept when it comes to still life paintings, and the composition itself can create action and that is what I wanted for this piece. I used the illusion of fabric-as-water to play a central role in connecting the elements of the painting.
